Dear TEE community,

Some time ago now, the American Reform movement created Shabbat Tzedek / Justice Shabbat as a way to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This year our observance seems more significant than ever as recent events have reawakened a mass movement for racial justice in this country.

Our Shabbat Tzedek gathering will begin with a special service followed by study and discussion. We will look at some documents from the Reform movement during the civil rights movement in the 1960s. They raise issues which are still relevant today concerning the political risks we are able or willing to take.

I hope you will join me for this opportunity to deepen our understanding and commitment.

Be well / Zei gesunt / Sano,

Rabbi Drorah Setel
