Tikkun Olam

Helping Local Refugees

Our synagogue has been invited to help support a special Tikkun Olam project for local refugee families. The Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester refugee committee has organized a special one-day event to highlight local refugees and the local groups that support refugee families. The event titled Supporting Our Refugee Neighbors: A Jewish Community Response, will be held Sunday Dec. 3 at Temple B’rith KodesN from 1:00-4:00pm.

The refugee organizations that will be receiving our donations will include Catholic Family Center Refugee Services, No One Left Behind, Refugees Helping Refugees, Muslim Volunteer Network, Mary’s Place, Rochester International Academy, Saint’s Place and Rochester Refugee Resettlement Services.

There are two ways to help, which are further explained below, but they are helping us either collect new or used goods for donation or to help day-of at the donation event to sort, organize and possibly deliver these goods on December 3rd. Thank you in advance for your continued support of our greater Rochester community! Thanks again,
